Expanding Mandrels


 


MAX Z1


MAX Z1 is the most common system.The segmented clamping

bushing is mounted onto the taper of the mandrel body.

While actuating the mandrel, a drawbolt pulls the bushing

towards the spindle and is expanding the bushing. While

releasing the mandrel ejector pins pushing the bushing away

from the spindle, the bushing collapse.

 


MAX Z2


MAX Z2 is the perfect solution when you need to clamp a part

with a blind hole.The complete actuation and release

mechanism is integrated into the mandrel / endstop therefore

there is no need for a drawbolt that takes away clamping

length

                      


MAX Z3


MAX Z3 is similar to the MAX Z1. The drawbolt and the

clamping bushing are one unit. By actuating the mandrel, the

drawbolt pulls the bushing onto the taper of the mandrel and

then releasing the mandrel the drawbolt releases the bushing

This type is suitable for smaller clamping diameters but not

for short clamping lengths.


 


MAX FZ1

Deadlength version - with no axial movement of the

bushing


The clamping is achieved via the pull-to-close principle.

When actuating the mandrel the drawbolt moves backwards,

towards the spindle – The clamping bushing expands and

clamps the part


 


MAX FD1

Deadlength version - with no axial movement of the bushing


The clamping is achieved via the push-to-close principle.

When activating the mandrel, the drawbolt moves forward,

away from the spindle – The clamping bushing expands and

clamps the part suitable for smaller clamping diameters.
